Luke 14:28-33

“For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it— lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace.  So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.”

Read Joshua 2

Sanctification means: Separation from Secular sinfulness and setting apart for sacred purposes.

A) They were sanctified through separation. They were set apart before crossing Jordan. The church today is set apart, sanctified through the washing of the water of the word.

I Corinthians 6:11

And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”

B) Cleansing Prepares you to receive revelation

II Corinthians 7:1  “Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit

C) Wonders Come when you are Sanctified

Joshua 3:5

“And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.”

Must step into the water by Faith.

Don’t Rely on Formulas  – rely on the Voice of the Spirit!

In the wilderness they saw the miracles and then acted. In the promised land – must act first to see a miracle!

John 10:4

And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.

Read Joshua Chapter 3

The ark was made of wood and covered with gold. Wood represents man and gold – Deity.

Jesus was both God and Man!

The Ark contained

  1. Aaron’s Rod
  2. Manna
  3. The 10 Commandments

These are symbols of 3 types of sins:

  1. People wanted King instead of Priesthood
  2. They Murmured against manna in desert.
  3. They refused to walk in God’s law. The ark bore representations of rebellion within it, just as Jesus carried our sins and bore our weaknesses and failures in Himself.

Because they kept their eyes on the ark that bore their sin, they were able to march into Canaan and see the salvation of God.

Joshua 4:16

“Command the priests who bear the ark of the Testimony to come up from the Jordan.”

The NAME CHANGES from ark of Covenant to the ark of the Testimony.

Proverbs 13:22

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,

But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.

God never brings us out of anything except to take us into something better. Land flowing milk and honey – houses they didn’t build, wells they didn’t dig, crops they didn’t plant.

The priests and the people had to walk in total obedience. They had to take action by stepping forth. As soon as they did, they saw the supernatural.

How do we cause the Supernatural to come to pass?

  1. We sanctify ourselves
  2. We must believe that we have an almighty God
  3. We must see that any problem is God’s opportunity for miracles.
  4. We must believe Romans 8:28
  5. We must believe God can do supernatural in nature.

Just as priests bore the ark, so must we, as God’s priests, take his word and bring about the supernatural.
