Our Authority Through Jesus – Kingdom Authority

Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated (transferred) un into the kingdom of the Son of His Love.

Kingdom: Royal Power, dominion, royalty, rule.

Colossians 2:15 – Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

John 18:36 – Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”

Matthew 28:16-20 – Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.  And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Authority: (exousia – force, superhuman, strength, power, mastery, priviledge). Jurisdiction, Liberty

Matthew 16:19 – And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Keys: a symbol of authority. Give you the ability to open and shut.

How the enemy steals our authority:

He no longer has authority over us. He has to deceive us into believing he does. We give him authority by giving him a place in what we do or say, but not recognizing him when he comes.

(I have a headache, I have a sore throat, my back hurts, I have an incurable disease, I’m broke, I don;’t feel good, I can’t afford that, this is more than I can stand, I don’t care, they are beyond hope, I can’t go on.)

Proverbs 6:2 – You are snared by the words of your own mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth.

James 1:26 26 – If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.

When we do not listen to the spirit of God and walk in presumption – when we walk in the lusts of the flesh – (Galatians 5:18-21) adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanliness, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries – we will not inherit the kingdom of God.

How Do We Walk the Narrow Road?

What you say is what you get:

Proverbs 18:21 – Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Anger: Proverbs 19:11 – The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, and his glory is to overlook a transgression.

Mind, Will, emotions under control of Spirit: Proverbs 21:23 – Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Keeps his soul from troubles.

Holy Spirit Baptism: Proverbs 25:28 – Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls.

Confess Sins, forgive others: Proverbs 28:13 – He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

Faith toward God: Mark 9:23 – Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Submission keeps devil out: James 4:7 – Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Luke 10:19 – Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Obey God: Matt 10:7-8 – And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

Luke 9:1-2 – Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

Romans 10:9-10 – That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

9 – Confess – homologeo means covenant
9 – saved – (sozo) – “safe” – deliver or protect (spiritual)
10 – Salvation (soteria) physically or morally – rescue or safety
